STAY cool, geek

Brand & Content Strategy | Podcast Production

To support the release of his independent feature film, Son of Ghostman, filmmaker Kurt Larson needed new ways to connect with potential audiences. Together with Kurt, I developed Stay Cool, Geek, a weekly, hour-long podcast exploring what it means to be a Star Wars-watching, Marvel comic-reading geek, while trying to remain a well-balanced adult pursuing a life-long dream. After overseeing its launch, I produced 100 episodes of the show over a two year period. I also designed the original logo, podcast cover art, and other collateral graphics used on Stay Cool, Geek and Kurt's own web site.

In October of 2014, I produced a live event that included a screening of Kurt's film, as well as a live podcast with Kurt and fellow podcaster Bart Scott, recorded at the historic Raue Theater in Crystal Lake, IL.

Son of Ghostman went on to win the coveted Rondo Hatton Award for best Independent Feature, and Stay Cool, Geek continues to release new episodes each week.
